First Parull’s choice of music. Remember Silsila ! I love all the songs from the movie but this instrumental score sets a great backdrop for the story of the brand.
Gayattri, means universal and Navyatta meaning fashion. Fashion that is universal, changing and in every sense global. Gayattri Navyatta holds no bounds to its creativity and exclusivity.
This is a story of grit , love and passion. Of fighting against odds, keeping your head high and following your heart. Because when you work with your hands , and make things with your heart and soul – it makes life beautiful.
And Gayattri Navyatta’s founder Parull Isharani got to back to her passion of block printing which helped her fight a personal incident and depression.
Parull loves blockprinting and how it is totally handmade. The entire process is hand made. “Each piece I do is I create it myself , I print myself and then send it for production. So I am involved in the entire process. And we don’t do mass production so each wearer gets to be in their limelight and enjoy its uniqueness.”
Parull is a trained early childhood teacher and worked as a teacher for a few years. Though she now fondly recounts her memorable moments from the six months at NIFT. ” I was enrolled for a course and I was the oldest of the faculty and students. I loved it. Age is really a number.” she says
Brand has launched a very famous Nathwada series, and florals for the festive season based on Hibiscus and marigold. Marigold being our personal favourite. Her beautiful Mughal buta prints are not what you would have seen on any other saris or clothing.
“Marigold and hibiscus have been flowers I relate to every festive season. Torans, rangoli, pujas, garland, the works! These flowers shout Indian vibrancy and the hues are treat to everyone’s eyes: love the shades of reds, pink, yellows, mustard, and oranges during this season. They have a certain sense of aesthetic beauty and warmth, just like Indian togetherness, all together in a common thread. ” says Parull.
“I used to think I was the strangest person in the world but then I thought there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do. I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me, too. Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this and know that, yes, it’s true I’m here, and I’m just as strange as you.” Parul
Parul signs off with her life’s mantra – Have faith and just do good.
